Video Game Trailers (January)

January 2011:
January marks the return of one game that will probably stay on this list until they actually release it in the United States. There are also a few newcomers. This section was especially hard to write this month, as none of these are on systems I currently own. It's kind of giving me no choice but to get a better system than the Wii...

Monster Hunter Portable 3rd (PSP)
Yes. It's back. Again. Rumor has it that it's going to be released in August of 2011 in the United States, but with no official word, anyone's guess is as good as mine. Then again, the promise of unlockable "Metal Gear Solid" equipment to dress Felynes in is enough to keep me interested.

Like I said - August 2011 - maybe.

Star Wars: The Old Republic (PC)
It's not like "Star Wars" has a great pedigree when it comes to video games. Aside from a few standouts now and then, these games have been awful. But, with a few hundred million dollars in money allegedly sunk into development, and this trailer, I'm almost considering giving it a try. It might not be as fun as this looks. Then again, nothing is as fun as this trailer looks.

Talk has this game coming out sometime in quarter two or three 2011.

Note: After the past two trailers, I became depressed. So I scoured the Internet for a good Wii RPG and found this next one. It makes me feel a little better about my inferior system.

The Last Story (Wii)
Given all the Japanese, I can't really tell what's going on exactly. But my guess is that there are epic goings-on afoot. Combined with some of the slick gameplay and real-time action RPG elements, I think it could definitely be a good play. Of course, I could just getting my hopes up, because I haven't heard about a Western release date.

The Japanese will be having their fun come January 27th, 2011.
