The Site

"Better Left Unwritten" was started in July 2010 as a forum to discuss a wide variety of random things that crossed my mind that others had to know and my dog was tired of hearing about.

What It Is
The focus here is on fantasy, science fiction and general "nerdery" in all its forms. These include movies, television and video games. My hope is that one day people can realize these things are far more mainstream than they give them credit for. You're probably a nerd already - you just don't know it yet.

Though, there is the outside chance you already know. In that case, good job. Admitting it is the first step to getting help.

What It's Not

This is not a political blog. Nor is it, in general, concerned with current events of any kind. While these things are often very important, they are also generally very depressing. I'm not aiming at depressing people - there are far too many ways you can do that in the comfort of your own home.

Who Should Read It
Almost anyone. You may not be a huge video game buff or fan of fantasy, but you probably watch movies. You probably watched "Independence Day," "Pitch Black," "X-Men" or some other high-budget science fiction/fantasy movie. (Sorry if it was "Battlefield Earth.") And what's more, you probably even liked it.

As these things are so common these days, there will be a place for a wide spectrum of readers from movie fans to television watchers to hardcore nerds.
